Kenya’s Supreme Court facing pressure from the same forces that fought (and won) against the ICC

Kenya’s Supreme Court recently stunned the world by nullifying the re-election of Uhuru Kenyatta for a second term as president. Kenya’s top court found that the August 8th presidential election had failed to meet the standards set in the country’s constitution. Now there is a campaign to discredit the Supreme Court that is being led by the same forces that helped destroy the Kenyan cases at the ICC.

I am glad to see an auld acquaintance back, under another new pen name. It seems you have not forfeited your convictions, nor your style? A rare sight in the dictatorializing banana republic that Kenya is today.

Kenya: Does Bensouda still have something up her sleeve?

Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua arap Sang at the ICC

With a little help from the ICC’s Appeals Chamber, Fatou Bensouda might just have gotten a way to make Ruto and Sang’s Rule 68 victory short lived.

It’s bigger. It’s greyer. And, on day one of using the new courtroom of the ICC, it has no apparent glitches.

The most recent news out of the saga of the Kenya cases at the ICC is that Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua arap Sang have filed a no case to answer motion., The move came after the prosecution finished presenting its case against them on charges of crimes against humanity in connection with the post-election violence that swept Kenya in 2007-2008.

Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto wants to become Kenya’s fifth president. His ICC ordeal and stance on homosexuality might just help him get there.

The ICC was just there to control Kenya election in favor of raila omolo odinga... We even see all those people who were in those organizations coaching witnesses are all in railas party and others are his followers... No one seems to care about what part he played in 2007/2008 violence... Nothing historical could have raisen if he didn't talk mass distribution...

Last week, the International Criminal Court seemed to be playing a game of Where’s Waldo as the elusive witness 727 was nowhere to be found. The allegedly vital witness was set to testify in the case against Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang.
